Shickshinny Falls is found on Little Shickshinny Creek less than 2 miles west of the small town of Shickshinny Pennsylvania.   Located in Luzerne County PA. the creek flows through the center of Shickshinny and joins the Susquehanna River.  This waterfall is located on PA State Gamelands #260.  It is less than a 1/2 mile walk to reach the top of the falls.  As usuall a steep scramble takes you to the base of the falls.  Here, unlike most falls I visit, the sedimentary bedrock strata are severely folded to nearly vertical.  This results in a very jagged rock surface and very awkward walking.

Debra and I were here on May 28th 2017.  Shickshinny Falls is a 30 foot plus steep cascade.  High above the streambed, a distinctive nose-like rock ledge protrudes nearly halfway across the chasm at the head of the falls.  Debra and I found this to be a very interesting and scenic place to visit.
