The Lower Falls on Fall Brook
at
Salt Spring State Park
The Lower Falls on Fall Brook at Salt Spring State Park is the first of three falls encountered as one wades up Fall Brook from the Park Headquarters. This falls is a broad cascading drop of about 10 feet. The park is in northern in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, near the New York State line. On February 28th 2017 the forecast was for rain but I found myself in a race against the brightly rising sun once more.

There is no trail along the stream, one simply wades along the stream edge. To reach the middle and the upper falls one must climb each fall as it is encountered. The stream flow was cold, high and strong and I "wimped out" on even attempting to scale the Lower Falls. As a result the remaining two falls will have to wait for a visit when the flow is lower and the air warmer.
