The Waterfalls of George W. Childs Park

The George W. Childs Park is on Dingman's Creek, located in Pike County, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Three major waterfalls are found with in the small park: Factory Falls, Fulmer Falls and Deer Leap Falls. A series of looping trails provide easy access for the many visitors and also protection from over use.

Factory Falls

Factory Falls is so named because it was used as a power source for an adjacent woolen mill in the early 1800"s. This multi-tiered falls drops a total of 18 feet into a large dark pool.

Fulmer Falls

Fulmer Falls is a tumultuous crashing falls which drops into an enclosed bowl. The downstream view of the falls is partially obscured from the left and right, as if peering through a partially closed rock wall curtain. This is the highest falls in the Park, dropping 55 feet.

Deer Leap Falls

Deer Leap Falls is a double, narrowly choked falls, which drops 30 feet into a large shallow feature-less pool. The park's trail provides a bridge just above these Falls. It is challenging to compose a photograph that does not include the trail bridge.
