Cole Run Falls is located in the Forbes State Forest in the Laurel Highlands of Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Study a map carefully to find your way to this falls. Debra and I first visited this location August 1st, 2016. We found the water flow pretty low, not ideal for photography. I returned April 29th, 2019 and these shots resulted.

The Classic Root Arch Shot

Just downstream from the falls is a birch tree with an eroded out root base. This aligns perfectly with the falls for a "peeking gnome" shot. Serious photographers visiting here, each render and share their own version of "looking through the arch." Here is mine in three different scales.
